On the power lines there are three phase cable which delivery electrical to the power box of customers consumer to be connected to the  electrical motor to produce products from Industrial in many industry in Rwanda country and other technology in the country use star and delta connectioncircuit, firstly 

Connection in star and delta the star connection start by slowing down to be connected to delta connectioncircuit which has. Power full to let electrical load moving with power 

The function of star connection and delta connectioncircuit is to build large energy systems in circuit 

How to connect star connection to the motor terminal box  first check the motor if it is 750kw ,668kw it is delta connectioncircuit motor and star connection to identify is  to see 380 voltage /415 voltage per phase 

And check 

        U 1=U2

       V  1= V2 

        W 1=W2 

  In wiring diagram to the terminal box first check please before connect the phase the motor. 

  

Key features: the voltage between each phase and the neutral is called phase voltage 

The voltage between two line is called line voltage 

The line voltage is √3 time the phase voltage ( line voltage = ×√3×three phase voltage  

There are some advantage of star connection circuit  

First neutral point is available this where electrical energy systems are products of from star connection to the grid all machine from nyabarongo river and equipment are connected to the Star connection this the power full of star connection it provide  neutral point other point allowing electrical machine which use single phase can be connected because star connection 

1. Low starting current  in motor  and reduce streess on equipment 

It deal on long distance power transmission  because the current is lower and reduce  the power losses in the power lines 

It important to connect in star connection circuit on motor  reduce utility bill payables  

Application of star connection circuit area 

But you need to know about star connection before starting you motor to make production and and delta connection 

 Yes because star can be connected to star heavy load machine application 

About delta connection ;

2. Delta connection connected to the each end of wiring and is connected to the beginning of the next forming a close loop

Or triangular circuit 

 

Key features: 

the voltage across each wiring (voltage phase )is equal to the line voltage , the current each line is √3 time to the current in the winding line current √3

 × phase current but in 

Delta (or mesh) connected load is shown where the end of one load is connected to the start of the next load

But it must be seen line voltage VRY and VBR  are the respective phase voltage  like VL= Vp 

But all we mentioned the one important factor is power factor and measure it by using 

one wattmeter Reading

 and two wattmeter Reading 

, Three wattmeter Reading 

The results will be totally=

 power=3×wattmeter reading 

How to identify power in 3 -phase AC circuit

The power dissipated in a Three phase load by this mean you motor cable is given by the sum of the power dissipated in each phase .

U1 =Red

V1=blue 

W1=green or black cable 

If load is balance then the total power is given by :p=3×Power consumer by one phase

What is the power factor 

Kw: is working power ( also called true power or active power or Real power . It is the power that actually power that equipment and perform useful work 

KVAR : is reactive power it is power that magnetic equipment transformers , motor and relay need to produce the magazine Flux
